CUPC governs the sport of Pool within the University of Cambridge, right from the grassroots college level through to the University teams which compete in the local leagues, BUCS championships, and the annual Varsity Match against Oxford.
Pool has been growing in popularity for a number of years within the University; there are usually around 40 college teams which compete in 5 divisions, and a large and active University-wide singles ladder. The national Universities pool scene is also thriving thanks to the efforts over the past few years of the Universities Pool Council, who have recently established annual BUCS-recognised championships.
CUPC is also the official society for Snooker in Cambridge University! Join the ladder here.
If you are interested, just register on this site and get playing!

They will be joined next year by the champions of Division 2A and 2B, who this year were Homerton 1 and Pembroke 1- both of whom had a nervous time getting promoted, waiting on Magdalene 1 and Emma 1 in last-day results. It is these two who contested the promotion play-off on Finals day, with Magdalene overcoming Emma to claim the last spot in Div 1.
Congratulations must also go to Trinity Hall 1, who defeated Homerton 1- looking for a back-to-back cup victories- in the final of cuppers 5-2 whilst Queens' 2 won the plate, with a 5-0 win over Trinity Grads. Many thanks to all the teams that attended the event. Full results and pictures of the winners can be seen here.

On another note, the University Singles Ladder is the best place to go if you want to play more competitive pool in Cambridge. You can play as little or as much as you like and those in the higher rows can gain automatic selection for Varsity and an invitation to the CU Masters. To join, follow the link above.
The draw has now been made for Cuppers and Plate trophies. It will be available on the website as soon as all team entries for the new season are received. It was conducted today at the CSC by Drew Miley, with Hugh Lund and Rob Hogan drawing the teams from the trophy.
