CUPC governs the sport of Pool within the University of Cambridge, right from the grassroots college level through to the University teams which compete in the local leagues, BUSA championships, and the annual Varsity Match against Oxford.
Pool has been growing in popularity for a number of years within the University; there are usually around 55-60 college teams which compete in 5 divisions, and a large and active University-wide singles ladder. The national Universities pool scene is also thriving thanks to the efforts over the past few years of the Universities Pool Council, who have recently established annual BUSA-recognised championships.
Click here for results and fixtures.
The university and university women's singles ladders are now active.
The ladders are the best way to get good match practice against experienced players, and the only way to guarantee qualification for the CU Masters tournament. To join a ladder just log in and click on one of the empty ladder spaces.
The CUPC is now hosting a university snooker ladder. Join now to get the highest places.
For the first time the CUPC plans to enter two teams into the summer season of the Cambridge Area Pool League. Matches are every thursday night over easter term and the summer vacation. If you're around over the summer and are willing to play (regularly or just occasionally), please get in touch with Steve McCann. Former students and staff are welcome.
Our AGM will be held tomorrow (Friday 19th) at the Castle pub on Castle Hill from 1pm. All welcome
Uni B finish with an 8-4 win over Jenny Wren A to top Division 3 at the end of the 08/09 CAPL winter season.
Uni A also end on a high note, recovering from relegation fears by winning three of their last four matches to finish a respectable 6th in the Premier division.
Congratulations to Alistair Argo on winning the prestigous CU Masters yesterday as a wildcard entrant. Full results are now up here. Well played Ali!
Draws have been done for the cuppers and plate competitions. See who you're up against here
Congratulations to Relja Arandjelovic on winning the 2008 Novices' tournament.

The deadline for entering new teams has passed. No more entries will be accepted.
All the captains that I am currently aware of have until WEDNESDAY 24th OCTOBER to
confirm they have read the league rules after which they will be fined points proportional to the number of days they have gone without doing so after the 24th.
Captains that are appointed later on to teams currently without a captain will have a deadline for this imposed starting from when I hear from them.
Entries are being taken for the new season.
Deadline for team registration is Wednesday 17th October.
To enter a team please send the captain's name and email address to cupcls@googlemail.com.
League fees are £20 per team and cheques made payable to 'Cambridge University Pool Club' should be sent to Matt Cullen at Fitzwilliam College.
Deadline for paying league fees is Wednesday 24th October at which point teams that haven't paid will be removed from the league.
There are major changes and additions to the League Rules this year and all captains are required to read them. The league rules can be found at: http://www.srcf.ucam.org/cupc/college/leaguerules.php
Captains will be asked to send a confirmation email that they have read and understood the league rules prior to the season starting. Please note that this is a requisite of entering a team this year and is not optional.
