This was held as stated below. Someone played really well, and won the tournament. Unfortunately, no-one wrote a report, or even congratulated the winner. Boo. Any further information gratefully received.
The tournament will be held this Saturday - February 1st. Tournament starts at 2pm, but if you turn up a bit earlier the tables will be available for practice.
It'll be held at Cambridge Snooker Centre. It's a 20-30min walk from town centre, and if you email us to register your interest we'll keep you informed of any taxi-sharing arrangements. Food and drink will be available from the bar at the venue.
The format will feature group stages with winners and runner-up progressing to the knockout stages.
Matches will be played to WSA official rules with the exception of the miss rule (same as the Uni Snooker Ladder). If you're not familiar with the rules don't worry - we'll have experts on hand to help throughout the tournament.
Entry is £3, which guarantees you multiple matches and free practice tables throughout the tournament.
All entry money goes into the prize fund. So, the more friends you bring, the more money you win!
The Open is for all current Cambridge University members.If you're unsure if you're eligible, just ask on Facebook or by email.
All abilities are welcome - there'll be cues available to borrow and people on hand to answer anything about the rules.
We'll be taking entries right up to 2pm on the day, but we'd appreciate it if you'd let us know you're coming on our Facebook page or by emailing us at [email protected], particularly if you think you might be late. You can also use that address if you have any questions.
