I hear that Uni A had a good performance against an inform Mickey's team, unfortunately ending in defeat. They're a quality side and I'm not sure if the Uni have ever picked up a win against them. Anyone care to post a match report?by Steve McCann - General Board
It was a shocker to see Craske take down Argo... someone needs to step up!by Steve McCann - General Board
I have deliberately totally snookered myself, but this is because I had no intention of hitting my ball on the following shot anyway.by Steve McCann - General Board
Yeah, it feels like it'll be quite a blow to the UK pool boom (as they've been calling it). Some people I know are sceptical about the whole thing and believe it is a semi-fraudulent way of clearing debts off without too many people noticing. (Ditch the loss-making premises and continue with the good ones)... I'm not sure what to think.by Steve McCann - General Board
Rich told me about this yesterday, it is shocking news... where will women's varsity be held? Also, 3 years ago we played in a Riley's in Oxford as Colours had been booked by someone else, do you know if that Riley's has also been closed? If so, then Oxford are in a little bit of trouble regarding a venue.by Steve McCann - General Board
Hear hear, Ali played really well all day and seemed to get better and better as the day went on! Well played Ali!by Steve McCann - General Board
It you send something in writing to Chris, then send it to all committee members independently. It can easily get misplaced or lost somehow and Chris would probably just tell us that we should have made sure it was in 14 days in advance and it's our own tough luck that he lost it. I'm not cynical really.by Steve McCann - University CAPL Teams
Hey guys, I'm up for playing ladder friendlies against anyone who is interested in giving me a game. I was uni captain a couple of years ago and play for the Uni A team in the CAPL league and would be happy to give advice/coaching around a friendly match, or feel free to challenge me if you wish to impress and beat me in a first to 15! I look forward to seeing the challenges roll in.by Steve McCann - General Board
I hear that the Uni B team have taken their winning record up to something like 10 wins in a row... this is great form to take into your cup match against the White Lion who are very beatable. How did the match pan out, if anyone has time then send me a full match analysis. I expect to hear about lots of flair from the match, especially with the inclusion of Tim "The Cannon" Hensby Steve McCann - General Board
I don't believe any Uni players have tried this competition before but any competition will be good experience. It must mean world rules and there will certainly be more than a few *very* good players there, but equally there will be a lot of players who aren't that hot so any Uni players under 21 are unlikely to be outclassed in their first couple of matches, unless they get an awful draw.by Steve McCann - General Board
Me 7-0 in the final Cheers (I'll stop bragging soon... honest!)by Steve McCann - Ask the committee!
This is something to do with you, isn't it? hmmmmm */me looks suspiciously around the forums*by Steve McCann - Off Topic
Excellent, let me know what time you want to meet at the CSC on Monday evening. I have no other plans for the evening so could make it there for anytime after 6. I'm more than happy to give advice during the challenge too, it should be a good evening. Cheers, Steveby Steve McCann - Singles Ladder
what?? I did not just type Weathersthingys... i mean really, I typed Weathersthingys, what's going on?by Steve McCann - Off Topic
Can't bring in your own drinks at the Gandhi, and the drink with the deal is a Pint of Carlsberg (or a soft drink), but the curry there is a lot better and you get a lot more... and given it is just up the road from Weathersthingys and many other fine pubs...by Steve McCann - Off Topic
It doesn't have to be a curry... though the Gandhi now does a £10 deal as well. Anyways, you guys decide what you're up for and i'll tag along.by Steve McCann - Off Topic
Heya, after the CU Open is a perfect opportunity for.... a curry! Heeheeby Steve McCann - Off Topic
I'm in, can one of you guys send an email out to the Uni A and B teams and see who's interested. To my knowledge, I think myself, Alex, Matt, Rob, Ben Bowie and maybe Thomas Endlein (if my memory serves have shown interest). Cheers, Steveby Steve McCann - Other cuesports

Ok, would someone like to suggest an evening next week to go to Mickey Flynn's? Do we have enough members of Mickey Flynn's to avoid extortionate entry prices?by Steve McCann - Other cuesports
It was a very good game, finished 8-4 and a lot of the frames were very close. It looks like it will be a good season for both Uni A and B teams. Thanks to everyone who played, hopefully I'll see you all regularly throughout the year playing at the CSC.by Steve McCann - University CAPL Teams
I need to get a 9-ball cue, but once I've got one i'm keen also. I think we should try to organise a night out sometime next week at Micky Flynn's to see how many people are interested. What do you guys think?by Steve McCann - Other cuesports
Hey, glad the freshers' squash went well... it looked quite good when i passed by.by Steve McCann - CUWPC
Hey, I'm Steve! I'm the new Men's A team Captain. I was formerly at King's for my Undergraduate degree, I'm now continuing study at Churchill.by Steve McCann - General Board
So how'd the big match against KSR A finish last night. From what I saw, you were all playing really well, and your next opponents in the CAPL are in for a shock. Cheers, Steveby Steve McCann - CUWPC
Just wanting to wish the best of luck to the Uni B and C team players at BUSA!!! COME ON THE UNI!!!by Steve McCann - Varsity and BUSA
Thanks guys for making a big effort tonight. Everyone played well and I spoke to the opposing captain and he told us that it was our ability to finish the frames we played that was the most important thing about our performance. I can tell already that we're going to be a force to contend with this year. I expect to see you all entering singles and doubles competitions in the league this seasby Steve McCann - University CAPL Teams
