And the answer is.... Sthingys, Wednesday 24th, 7pm, decent. !!THEME!! - Colours. Lots of them. There is a minimum requirement of 4 colours to be evident on every attendant. But then the more colours you wear, and the brighter they are, the better. A small prize will be presented to he or she who makes the best effort, and there will be substantial fines for anyone deemed to be not in the spiritby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
Don't you worry, I only turned up in 2005, after you left (sadly...?). Bastard. Now I have a deathly craving for Werthers, but no desire to head out to the shops through the fog... As for uni challenge, well Parvizi & Allen are two of my closest friends, so I knew what to expect. Still, a bunch of freshers held their own against the team of old men pretty well I think! xVby Jenny Boland - General Board
...and lots of celebrations to be having... xVby Jenny Boland - Ask the committee!
Does the Ghandi £10 involve byob? I know almost all curry houses in Cambridge do the pappadoms/naan/rice/curry/1 drink £10 deal - although most of them don't advertise it, you'll almost always get it if you ask for it - but the sad reason we keep going back to curry king/mahal is for the pure classiness of drinking a £3 bottle of wine with such fine cuisine. xVby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
PS - CU Open on Sunday will be an awesome chance for everyone to get together too - so sign up! xVby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
Hrm... end of term is fairly busy for people especially christmas, and especially with someone rearranging lots of pub league matches... but there's always a good reason to make it even more busy! Will get on with sorting something soon xVby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
So, if you are in a situation when you're obliged to nominate, am I right in thinking you can't for eg nominate red then play a yellow into a red to pot it? xVby Jenny Boland - General Board
Dear, dear, Rob, you're showing your age slightly.... xVby Jenny Boland - College Leagues
What is this? This is film? I like. Do you like me? Only the highest quality potassium will do. xVby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
Righty. And the answer is... After reading all your replies, I decided we should go for a curry on Monday night, as that means fewest people who replied would be left out. If anyone else wants to come along just let me know & I'll add you in, would be great to see/meet you all! I've booked a table at the Curry King at 8 o'clock, expecting the following people: Matt C, Alix, Kayleigh, Jason Gby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
QuoteI'm Gemma, I'm former and probably forgotten women's captain, Forgotten? Never! Unless you don't come to our curry that is. :-*by Jenny Boland - General Board
QuoteThe Pembroke table may be crap, but does Si Williams technique of kicking it still get you a free game?? I've been shown/told of many ways to get free games, hence money stash always being empty. Last one I had demonstrated involved lifting the top off the table & reaching inside to flick the catch to release the balls - you need long & fairly slim arms though... xVby Jenny Boland - General Board
QuoteDidn't the roof fall in on it last year or something? Yeah, but it survived that, hardy Pembroke-ware as it is. What it didn't survive so well is the multiple and varied break-in attempts on its 20p-stash (almost always empty anyway), and then the summer school students didn't help, using it as a general beverage holder/seat/beer-pong table. Bloody foreigners. (*hides non-EU passport*) xby Jenny Boland - General Board
Hello! Believe it or not, I'm Jenny. I'm also women's vice-capt, so get used to me & my overly affectionate ways! I'm at Pembroke, where the pool table is a fairly sorry affair, bummer. xVby Jenny Boland - General Board
What you've all been waiting for.... Hey guys! Hope you all had superb fun with the festivities & are raring to go with this wonderful new term. Start of a new year, which means time to dust off the pool cues & get back into action (for those of you not dedicated enough to be practicing every day that is). Happily, it also means us all getting together for a start-of-year shindig! You knby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
Hey guys! After a little prodding from Kate, I got a-looking-into an end-of term social. However I've come to the conclusion that end of Mich term = lots of Christmas parties = generally low availability. Although this COULD be worked around, at end of term everyone's knackered, and I thought a much better idea would be for us to get together at the start of next term - we can kick off the new yby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
You've probably had an email about this, but in case you're not on our email lists, here goes: The time has come for our start-of-year dinner - a chance for everyone to get to know each other a bit better (& get drunk) in a non-pool setting. This will make it much more fun & relaxed to play with each other in teams for the rest of the year, as well as knowing a friendly face when we faceby Jenny Boland - Off Topic
