You've probably had an email about this, but in case you're not on our email lists, here goes:

The time has come for our start-of-year dinner - a chance for everyone to get to know each other a bit better (& get drunk) in a non-pool setting. This will make it much more fun & relaxed to play with each other in teams for the rest of the year, as well as knowing a friendly face when we face each other in college leagues!

So the plan is to go for a curry one night. If you want to come along, and you know you do, please PM/email me to let me know which nights you are available between the 13th & the 18th, except the 17th cos it won't be then cos I already know lots of us are busy smiling smiley I'll see when most people can make it & then set a firm date & pick a venue (anyone have any specific preferences?).

Hope to get lots of extremely enthuiastic replies soon - especially from our freshers & other new recruits! 'Til then, my darlings, keep a-practicing!

Jenny

Righty. And the answer is...

After reading all your replies, I decided we should go for a curry on
Monday night, as that means fewest people who replied would be left out. If anyone else wants to come along just let me know & I'll add you in, would be great to see/meet you all! I've booked a table at the Curry King at 8 o'clock, expecting the following people: Matt C, Alix, Kayleigh, Jason G, Kirsty H, Rob C, Kate H, Ryan A, Steve Mc & me of course. Can ALL of you please get back to me to confirm you can still make it smiling smiley asapish! Nina, Emma, Alex, Gems, really sorry to disappoint, but let me know if you can make it after all & I'll add you guys in.

The plan of attack is to meet at 7:30 at the Baron of Beef, just off Bridge Street - see
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&search_result=&db=pc&lang=&keepicon=true&pc=CB21UF&advanced=&client=public&addr2=&quicksearch=CB2%201UF&addr3=&addr1=
then progress to el Curry Kingo from there. And from there, who knows - see where the night takes us! For those of you who haven't yet had the great Cambridge Curry experience, it involves poppadoms, rice, naan, a curry of your choice & a drink, and will set you back just a tenner (there should be some english alternative as well). **PLUS** seeing as we're hitting the classy Curry King, it's BYOB (after the first drink you get with the meal)- so you don't have to buy lots of their expensive booze to wash it all down with. Top drawer.

Hang in there guys, almost done...
>> NEXT CRUCIAL POINT!! We definitely can't do this without a theme, but I thought I'd keep it fairly simple, as between freshers week, halloween & general cindies nights I fear people might get costumed-out! So I want EVERYONE to be dressed significantly in either RED OR YELLOW, in honour of our common ground. (If you're struggling, I'll accept green, but it must be top-to-toe. And you'd need a baulk line drawn on.) And I want obvious colour - red stripes on a blue shirt simply won't do, and will result in appropriate fineage.

Righty, I think that's enough for now. Hope to get lots of replies soon to make me feel popular. In the mean-time, hope you're all logging lots of hours at the pool table! A bientot my darlings,

Jenny xV

Hrm... end of term is fairly busy for people especially christmas, and especially with someone rearranging lots of pub league matches... but there's always a good reason to make it even more busy! Will get on with sorting something soon xV
