CAPL AGM meeting - what we want????? (9 replies)

Hi guys,

After many heated disscussions on the CAPL forum, I seem to have got nowhere. It is important that we decide whether we want change and what change we want. The AGM is in a couple of weeks and we have to send a request in writing to the committee if we want a vote to be made on a change in the constitution. Changes I recommend are....

1. Uni-B are guaranteed the to be in the division that they would be in if they had played the summer. This would usually invovle relagating three teams, but this is still fair since three will have been promoted. The division involved would be made fully aware of the situation.

2. A bye is put into the division where Uni-B should be. The committee doesn't really like this since people hate not being able to play pool on a thursday.

3. Make the summer and winter leagues seperate. This would be quite a big change but on the positive side other teams may want this also.

4. Any other suggestions???????

We don't have too much time and will probabaly not get what we ask for but it's always worth a try.

I have said this all specifically for Uni-B since Uni-A managed to put out a team over summer and seem to be able to cope much better.

Great night last night!
Both uni teams comfortably through 5-1, and Man on the Moon A comfirmed as going out by the same scoreline to Grove B!
All we have to do now is avoid the Rathmore and KSR in the next round and it's looking good for uni glory!!

Steve and I are keen to get some frames in at CSC before the match tonight. I can be there from about 7pm, which should give an hour or so's practice before we take on the boys from Romsey. Make no mistake about it, if Romsey have their full-strength team out (and it sounds likely), this could be one of the toughest matches of the season. An hour or so beforehand to get your eye in could make all the difference.

Hope to see some of you there! :)

Awesome, we have 3 of the top 4 in the current player rankings:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andy.greenley/pool/rankings.pdf

Admittedly, the MOTM (A) players are missing some of their frames because one of their scorecards still hasn't arrived, and the Rathmore have only played one match since the Romsey guys cancelled on them, but still... ;D

Thanks guys for making a big effort tonight. Everyone played well and I spoke to the opposing captain and he told us that it was our ability to finish the frames we played that was the most important thing about our performance.

I can tell already that we're going to be a force to contend with this year. :)

I expect to see you all entering singles and doubles competitions in the league this season. I'll send details out to you soon.

Cheers
