I remember him, he played english with an american cue, which was pretty amusing. I recognised his name at the time because one of my friends (bit of a photography geek) had been talking about him. He's a pretty big name in wildlife photography I think.

Hey Matt, good to hear from you. When I saw the thread title I thought you might be asking about yourself! Still plenty around who remember the Cullen era :p.

I do vaguely remember Thomas I think - tall blonde guy, played with a glove?

Pretty sure he played in the novices tournament when I was a fresher, and he was definitely on the ladder. Never played him though.

He was v good at 9-ball. Not bad at English pool either. Prob only Graham who was around at the time.

Nah. He failed to dish off my foul break, let me back in, and I bungled my way up to the black, and missed it.

Adam and Nedal played like foxes (BUCS spirit people) and Mike's first frame was a marathon. The frame lasted 30 mins and he was completely screwed for 29 of them and still came out with a win. More importantly my home percentage is up to a huge 25%

I had to leave early unfortunately, so I didn't see it all. I left when Mickey's were 5-2 up. 4 of those frames were dishes. I should have won 2/2, gr.

I hear that Uni A had a good performance against an inform Mickey's team, unfortunately ending in defeat. They're a quality side and I'm not sure if the Uni have ever picked up a win against them.

Week 8 - Uni A 9-3 KSR A :)

Can't complain. It went 2-0, 2-2, 4-2, 4-3 before we reeled off the last 5 frames for a comfortable win against one of the better teams in the league, and I think we deserved it.

That's three wins from our last three and should put us squarely mid-table with plenty of time to rise futher.

That's it for the leagues in 2009, I hope when we come back we can pick up where we left off. Until then - have a good Christmas all.

It was a quality dish - even if you do say so yourself ;)

Good fun last night. It looked like it might be comfortable at 4-0 up but I thought we did well to survive their comeback and get the two points.

The league table still puts us third from bottom, but apart from CSC A languishing on 2 points and the Moon running away with it on 11, it's all very tight. We're only 3 points behind the second placed team in the division (currently the portland!) and still have most of the season to catch them. All to play for.

Also - who gave McCann admin rights?

Important win over a team at the bottom of the league. Off to a great start, with things going our way, then the luck turned. We crossed the winning line, however, with style.

Good idea, but if you're gonna do it do it right - I'm pretty sure we were 6-1 up and got over the line at 7-4 before giving them the last out of pity.

Massive difference you see - you make it look like we were a bunch of donkeys when it was only really Ali! ;)

Great win for the As last week - beat the workies 7-5. We were 5-1 and 6-3 up but struggled over the line from 6-5.

We haven't set a date for finals night yet but it will be some time in the second week of June. Div 2 playoffs will be on the same day if possible.

Having just got through to the semi's of cuppers I was wondering if the date for Finals day has been set yet, and is that the same day as the Div 2 playoff's as we might get through to them too?

Excuses first: I'm bored and this caught my eye.

I nominated a colour I was total snookered on off the break so I could roll up behind it and snooker my opponent once. I've never seen someone do that :D I felt well crafty.

My local went which now means finding an English table round my way is pretty tough. My snooker club is still open mind so I'll just go there. I'll remain as tactically inept as ever at pool but there's half a chance I'll be a potting demon before long >:D<

My local snooker club, and my friend's snooker club on the other side of london both closed down in last year or so - quite a shame really. Still plenty in London though.

Yeah, it feels like it'll be quite a blow to the UK pool boom (as they've been calling it). Some people I know are sceptical about the whole thing and believe it is a semi-fraudulent way of clearing debts off without too many people noticing. (Ditch the loss-making premises and continue with the good ones)... I'm not sure what to think.
